Mullaloo Chiropractic Clinic

Holistic Spinal Health Care

for adults and children

Millions of nerves travel throughout the human frame to control the function and physiology of your body. Dysfunctional spinal joints that may not be moving properly can affect your health by irritating delicate neurological structures. When irritated, these structures alert your brain that something is wrong. Symptoms, including pain, are usually the result.
Nerve signals are also sent to your muscles and ligaments to stabilise and protect the area from further injury or degeneration. You may find yourself feeling stiff, sore, and tired.
Chiropractic care seeks to locate the source of your symptoms and address the underlying cause.

Our Practitioners

Meet the MCC Team

We are a team of highly qualified Chiropractors, Remedial Massage Therapists and Acupuncturists, forming a family practice located in beach side Mullaloo, with extensive experience in modern alternative healthcare methods.
Using the latest, well-researched techniques, we strive to deliver a holistic healthcare approach to our patients in a comfortable, personalised and easy-to-understand manner.

Dr Sonia Savage

CHIROPRACTOR

The founding practitioner and now Principal Chiropractor. Dr Sonia was born in Italy and moved to Australia at 9. Originally studying Biomedical Science for a path into allopathic medicine, she paused her studies to focus on being a mum.

Returning to Health Science to qualify from Murdoch University’s inaugural class, as a Chiropractic Clinician. The life experiences of being a wife, mother of 2 and grandmother to 3, created the drive to empower her patients with knowledge of preventative health care. Thus further studies into instrument adjusting techniques and nutrition, allow Dr Sonia to practice Functional/Nutritional Chiropractic, delivering a holistic approach to patient wellness.

Given the opportunity, she celebrates life walking/swimming at Mullaloo beach, enjoying a coffee with a good book or practicing yoga.

Dr Elaine Tan

CHIROPRACTOR

A tenured practitioner at MCC. Dr Elaine was born in Malaysia, began secondary education in London to complete it in Perth, experiencing chiropractic personally in her final year. In 2014 she graduated the double degree in Chiropractic at Murdoch University with distinction.

Dr Elaine strives to help people cope with life stresses through chiropractic care and revels seeing improvement in her patients’ quality of life. She has an avid interest in caring for women through pregnancy, understanding the importance of tailoring the body’s balance to avoid pain.

Outside of work she leads a busy family life. Her husband, young son and baby daughter, along with two Jack Russells, ensure lots of time in parks and playgrounds. If that doesn’t keep her on her toes she likes the gym for exercise.

Dr Elaine is BACK! :)

Dr Alana Pondaag

Dr. Alana joined our team early 2020. Growing up in Port Hedland she moved to attend Penrhos College. Having been a chiropractic patient since age 10 and wanting to share the experience, she chose Chiropractic and obtained her double degree from Murdoch University, with honours.

Dr. Alana’s goal is to adjust J her chiropractic skills to nurture the health of the whole family, thus treasuring the bonds she builds with her patients and the feeling she is contributing to her patients’ achieving their ‘best self’.

When not at MCC she adores her family time. Recently married with one fur baby. In her downtime you will catch Alana scoping out new cafes, trying out new recipes, binging Netflix and obsessing over her dog. Dogs are people too, right?

CHIROPRACTIC

Activator Methods Technique

Incorporating the latest advances in orthopaedic, neurological and chiropractic examinations, this unique system of administering spinal adjustments using research-based analysis and the Activator Adjusting Instrument can help restore spinal balance through gentle, low-force adjustments.
The technique requires extensive training in a unique set of protocols used to detect spinal joint dysfunction, analyse leg length inequality, identify issues with body mechanics and test neurological reflexes.

The Activator instrument itself provides a controlled, fast thrust that is comfortable for the patient. In fact, adjustments with the Activator are so quick and measured, muscles have demonstrated less resistance in clinical trials; allowing for a more accurate adjustment.

We are also trained in Webster Technique; a chiropractic analysis and adjustment method aimed at reducing sacral/SI joint dysfunction.

CHIROPRACTIC

Impulse/IQ Adjusting Instruments

The Impulse Adjusting Instrument is controlled by micro-computer circuitry housed within the device that produces a controlled force, which chiropractors can use to treat various areas across the body.

The IQ, in addition, has a built in accelerometer which monitors spinal joint motion, in real time, matching the speed of the 'impulses' delivered to maintain a harmonious frequency with movement of the joint during the adjustment/correction.

Impulse & IQ adjusting instruments are designed to restore musculoskeletal balance and function and to correct the underlying cause of your symptoms, with treatments that are as painless as possible.

Chiropractic adjustments with the Impulse feel like a light tapping sensation on the area that is being treated, with your Chiropractor having the ability to adjust the settings (starting from the lowest and increasing in force) appropriate to the region of the body being adjusted and patient comfort.

CHIROPRACTIC
